A general purpose interior/exterior solvent based varnish for all wood surfaces.
USES: |
- For use on new and previously varnished interior or exterior wood surfaces.

PRODUCT INFORMATION: |
- Type: A Long Oil Altyd
- Appearance: Gloss
- Colour: Clear, Dark Oak, Light Oak, Teak and Mahogany
- Solids: 45% by mass
- Density: 0.82 – 0.86.
- Viscosity at 25°ͨ: 65-70Kµ
- Specific Gravity: 0.90-0.91
- Flash Point: @ 34°ͨ
APPLICATION DETAILS: |
- Mixing: Stir well before use.
- Method: Brush, Rollers not recommended. Conventional Spray.
- Thinning: Mineral Turpentine
- Clean-up: Mineral Turpentine
- Spreading rate: 10-12m²/l depending on surface porosity and profile.
- Conditions: Avoid painting in wet or cold weather. Minimum temp 8°ͨ
- Drying Time: Touch dry 4 hours. Hard dry 18 hour at 25 degrees.
- Recoating Time:18 hours
- Requirements: 2 Coats
SURFACE PREPARATION: |
New surface must be sound, clean and dry(moisture content below 15%) before painting.
- Sand to a smooth surface in the direction of the wood fiber.
- Remove all dust.
- Thin first coat with 10% Mineral Turpentine.
- Sand slightly with fine sandpaper or fine steel wool in between coats.
- Apply 2nd coat and 3rd unthinned.
- To prevent ingress of moisture the end grain must be coated.
Redecoration
- For surfaces in poor condition: Strip down and treat as new work.
- Surfaces in good condition must be slightly sanded, dusted and then treated as new work.
- For maximum protection on exterior wood 3 coats of varnish is advisable.
STORAGE: |
- Keep container properly sealed after use.
- Keep away from direct sunlight, heat and severe cold.
