  • SURFACE PREPARATION

Prepare substrate by removing all loose and friable matter.

All surfaces need to be properly prepared / primed, as per manufactures specification**

Ensure that the plaster surface is clean, dry and sound and in accordance with SABS 1514:1993 plaster specification and C.C.I – SANS 2001- EMI: 2007 SUCCESSFUL PLASTERING, (605 ACCURACY)

  • APPLICATION

Versus Stone Finish is applied by first applying the stone paste onto the surface, by steel trowel.

It is imperative that this stone paste is applied as evenly as possible.

It is recommended that one rolls over any trowel marks that may be evident, gently with a roller.

Once the paste is as smooth as possible, one is now ready to apply the stones (by hand) into the wet paste.

On drying, the paste will harden around each stone and will hold these stones that have embedded themselves into the paste.

It is important to note, that the stones that have not embedded themselves in to the paste will fall off. We recommend once fully cured, that one takes a very soft bristle brush and brushes off any excess stones.

Please Note: It is a common occurrence especially after the first rains, that a substantial amount of stones will fall down. There is no need to worry, as previously mentioned, that these are the stones that have not embedded themselves into the paste and will come off. Also always throw stones with a cupped hand and not with open fingers, as this will leave striations onto the surface.

Please ensure that the stones are dust free prior to throwing.

One may even need to wash and dry the stones, prior to using them, if extremely dusty.

The paste is a premixed, therefore no adding of water / thinning is required.

Note: Thinning will result in color variations.
